The Gallery of Virgilio Alomar

VIRGILIO has been practicing Social Work and Education for over 40 years. He has always dreamed of going to Art school, however, due to overwhelming challenges in NYC, and to financially support himself, he chose to become a professional Social Worker, working with primarily Latino families in the Bronx and Manhattan.Virgilio had 12 siblings, and his parents came to NYC in the late 1940s, they were from Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico.

While Virgilio has been self-taught as an Artist, his works represent vivid color and imagery, that so many people can relate to.

Virgilio respects color and uses it as the primary vehicle to send his Message.
